21 02 2011

Have you opened a box of Cracker Jack recently?  Fingered through the sometimes stale contents to find the prize?  Been disappointed with the contents of that iconic paper wrapper?  Yeah, me too.  Like most things, it didn’t used to be that way.  Prizes were clever, sometimes almost unbelievably complex for their diminutive size.  Like this detailed plastic mummy, available in many colors.

So ok, the modern Cracker Jack experience is a let-down, but the good news is that people saved those older prizes because they were so nifty, and now they are available on the collectors market.  Check out this beautiful website to see some of the designs that once made getting a box of Cracker Jack a real treat.
