Take a Magic Carpet Ride

2 07 2011

Early twentieth-century toes were familiar with wire grass rugs, similar to today’s sisal matting.  This 1920 Waite catalog illustration presents the company’s sole Egyptian-themed offering, at least for that year.  Boringly named “Pattern J-6” the design features an elegant papyrus border.  Offered in blue, brown, green, grey, black, or rose.  A lovely addition to any home, porch, or safari tent.
